What do BV, BVR, BLV, BVVB, YJV and VLV stand for in wires and cables?
Start with alphabetical parsing
Starting with the letter B, it is a number of types of wires. Series B belongs to distribution wires. It can be divided into electromagnetic wires and general insulated wires according to their uses. Today we are talking about general insulated wires.
Insulated wires, also known as distribution wires, refer to the wires covered with insulation layer, including various connection wires and installation wires.
The letter V
Represents PVC polyvinyl chloride, that is, sheath plastic.
The letter L
Short for aluminium conductor.
The letter T
Abbreviation for copper conductor.
The letter R
R stands for "ruan". In order to make the wire soft, it is necessary to increase the number of conductors.

BVVB is two parallel BV lines with a white sheath plastic.

Sheathed wire refers to single-core or multi-core wires with sheath layer. Generally, copper-core BV conductor has an insulating layer outside the conductor and a white PVC protective layer outside the conductor.
From the point of view of the degree of hardness and softness, sheath wires can be divided into two types: hard sheath wires and soft sheath wires.
From the aspect of appearance, sheath line can be divided into round sheath line and flat sheath line.

Short for cross-linked polyethylene insulation.

What YJV and VLV have in common:

Electrical Round Copper Wire/Electrical Round Aluminum Wire
It is suitable for indoor, cable trench, pipeline, tunnel, etc. It can also be buried in loose soil and can not withstand external forces. It is generally used as the main road of circuit transmission and rated voltage is used for power line transmission and distribution.
The difference between YJV and VLV:
YJV has excellent thermomechanical properties, excellent electrical properties and chemical corrosion resistance. It has simple structure and no drop limitation. It is a novel cable widely used in urban power grid, mines and factories. The current carrying capacity of the cable is also large. The maximum rated operating temperature of the cable conductor is 90 C, which is higher than that of polyvinyl chloride insulated and polyethylene insulated cables.
The maximum rated working temperature of VLV cable conductor is 70 degree C, which is worse than YJV.
Keep in mind that:
The finished wires and cables and their cores need to undergo power frequency spark voltage withstanding test.
The marking of wires and cables shall be carried out in accordance with GB6995 standard. The marking shall be clear and rubbable.
National standard BV wire and cable is used for electrical devices, instruments, decoration, telecommunications equipment, power lighting and circuits with rated AC voltage of 450/750V or below or DC voltage of 1000V or below, which can be applied either openly or covertly.
